My name is Angela and I am a small breeder of quality bengal cats. I live on a farm in rural Aberdeenshire, Scotland with my husband Gary and our son Adam. We are located just off the A96, around an hour's drive North of Aberdeen.
I started breeding bengal cats in 2003 and am still fascinated by their unique characteristics and stunning beauty. My breeding cats are from top quality lines and my aim is to produce beautiful, healthy kittens with excellent temperaments which meet the Breed Standards. I am a GCCF and TICA registered breeder and am a member of The Bengal Cat Club and The Bengal Cat Club of Great Britain. All Rockytop kittens are born and raised with us in our home, ensuring they are well socialised before they leave with their new owners. All kittens are GCCF or TICA registered, vaccinated, insured, wormed and litter trained and they leave with a Royal Canin kitten pack. The adult bengals are housed in spacious and comfortable outdoor heated catteries. There are also large outdoor enclosures where the stud boys enjoy the Scottish fresh air and obtain the exercise they need whilst the queens take pleasure in exploring the garden under my supervision. The health and wellbeing of my bengal cats and kittens is of the utmost importance to me and my adult breeding cats have their hearts scanned on a regular basis and are tested for HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and other heart abnormalities by cardiologist Anne French MVB Cert. SAM DVC Dip.ECVIM-Cardiology PhD MRCVS RCVS & European Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh. Each cat receives a thorough physical examination and an echocardiogram ( an ultrasound examination of the heart). The testing is performed in association with the Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) and the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society (VCS) and their aim is to identify cats free from HCM, to collect data for investigation of a possible genetic basis and to advise owners, breeders and cats' veterinary surgeons when an abnormality is identified. This is not a perfect tool for the diagnosis of HCM but is the most sensitive method currently available for detecting early signs of the disease. More information on HCM can be found on the Feline Advisory Bureau website www.fabcats.org If you would like any further information about Rockytop Bengals or are interested in acquiring a Rockytop kitten for pet/show/breeding please e-mail garychristie582@btinternet.com or telephone me on 01542 810294.
